For common procedures, government charges total PLN 440 for standard temporary residence including the card, PLN 540 for temporary residence and work, or PLN 740 for permanent residence or EU long-term resident status. These totals exclude reductions and exemptions. Translations and professional assistance are separate.

Short answer

For common procedures, government charges total PLN 440 for standard temporary residence including the card, PLN 540 for temporary residence and work, or PLN 740 for permanent residence or EU long-term resident status. These totals exclude reductions and exemptions. Translations and professional assistance are separate.

Separate the three parts of the price

Budget for the permit, production of the plastic card and any services you choose. A single advertised price does not explain whether translations, government charges or responses to document requests are included. Identify your procedure before comparing assistance packages.

Common procedurePermitCardGovernment total without reductions
Standard temporary residence, for example studies, family or businessPLN 340PLN 100PLN 440
Temporary residence and work under Article 114(1)PLN 440PLN 100PLN 540
Permanent residencePLN 640PLN 100PLN 740
EU long-term resident permit issued by PolandPLN 640PLN 100PLN 740

These are common rates, not an exhaustive list. Special procedures, exemptions and reductions exist. Not all employment uses Article 114(1): MOS distinguishes ordinary workers from certain company functions. The Silesian office publishes a fee breakdown.

Two payments to separate accounts

UdSC explains payment for MOS applications: attach evidence of the permit duty and card production payment. They are paid separately to different accounts. MOS itself does not take the payments.

For Gdańsk, check the Pomeranian office’s instructions; for Warsaw, Mazovian; for Wrocław, Lower Silesian. Do not copy another region’s bank account. Use the required applicant details and payment description, and keep both receipts. A child’s basis and entitlement to any reduction require their own check.

Costs beyond government charges

There is no universal official translation price for every application bundle. Ask for a quotation based on your documents. Establish whether assistance includes preparation, submission, responses to wezwanie, later stages and employer contact. Pobyto’s pricing concerns services and should be distinguished from government payments.

Will a refusal lead to a refund?

Do not assume so. For the relevant applications lodged from 5 March 2026, restrictions apply to refunding permit duty following refusal or discontinuance. See the official office announcement and the enacted amendment, Journal of Laws 2026 item 203. Earlier applications and other refund circumstances require separate review. The card production payment must not automatically be treated like permit duty.

Frequently asked questions

Is a work-based card PLN 440 or PLN 540?

Under the usual Article 114(1) procedure, duty is PLN 440 and standard card production is another PLN 100. The total is PLN 540 before reductions and service costs.

Are there reductions for children or students?

Specified categories may qualify. Check eligibility and supporting evidence before payment. A card reduction does not automatically reduce permit duty.

Does choosing a different city change the rate?

Rates depend on the procedure and exemptions. Bank accounts and payment arrangements differ locally.
